From now until 20th August, we call everyone to organize mini-protests to be shared on social media and from the 20th to 25th to organize larger protests against the landmark Supreme Court Ruling of Marco Temporal on 25th August in Brasilia.
We call Indigenous peoples to spread the message of this campaign given the implications of what is happening as a precedent for what could happen to Indigenous peoples everywhere. Please send us prayers, songs, letters, videos and/or messages of support.
We call artists and cultural workers to help us create an online gallery of artworks that address the complexities of the urgent global climate crisis and the threat to Indigenous rights everywhere. We invite artists to share Creative Commons artworks.
We call non-profit organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), foundations, and community groups to create a network of support and a form of collaboration that can support us to work together in the long haul.
We call students and academics to organize teach-ins and virtual and physical protests (classroom, department, zoom) using images or videos to be shared here and on social media.
We call kids and families to sign the intergenerational pledge, to read Ninawa's story "A Forest Called Amazon", to send us drawings, and to organize micro- and mini-protests for the Amazon, for Indigenous rights, and for the future of the planet.
We call professionals, unions and professional associations to commit to adding their voice in support of Indigenous rights and the protection of the Amazon and of all environmentally sensitive areas on the planet.
We call businesses and political leaders to support ethical and sustainable practices related to Indigenous rights, to the Amazon, and to the climate agenda,.
We call journalists and the media to commit to documenting and raising awareness about current threats to Indigenous rights, the Amazon forest, and all other ecologically sensitive areas around the world.
We call climate activists to direct the energy of the movement to protecting the Amazon and the rights of Indigenous peoples in Brazil and everywhere. We ask the movement to help organize large-scale protests from 20th to 25th August and to place Indigenous rights at the centre of the climate agenda.
